Why did you become a coach?
I became a coach because I love helping people. My goal is to create a community where everyone feels like they’ve found their happy, safe place to destress, have fun, and get stronger. I want to be that extra push of hope people need to keep believing in themselves and realize just how capable they truly are.
What do you love about coaching?
I love watching and supporting my athletes as they grow and even when they fail because every moment is a chance to learn and improve. They inspire me to become a better coach and a better person. And honestly, I love teasing and annoying them too… especially with my Taylor Swift sessions!
What is your favorite movement/skill/lift to coach?
I love to teach Bench Press!
What is your least favorite movement/skill/lift to coach?
Snatches… mostly because of all the unsolicited dirty jokes from the athletes (kidding… maybe). It’s also such a complex movement that brings a little bit of coaching PTSD!
What are of your personal gym goals?
I want to keep becoming the strongest version of myself! One of my big goals is to bench press my body weight! I’m also working on stringing together my double-unders and improving my endurance. I want to keep pushing myself to do the things that challenge (and sometimes scare) me like running and going inverted. And maybe, just maybe, finally take down my gym frenemy once and for all.
What are your personal nutrition goals?
I want to keep building healthy eating habits and finding balance in my nutrition. My biggest challenge is getting more veggies into my diet, so that’s something I’m actively working on! I’m also trying to tame my huge sweet tooth but progress is progress!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love spending time with my family whether we’re watching movies, traveling, or just hanging out together. I love to follow (and annoy) my older sisters! I also love spending time with my best friend Katy and getting my hands dirty doing some mechanics.
Where is one place you’ve always wanted to visit?
It’s a tie between Hawaii and Antarctica! I want to swim with dolphins in Hawaii or meet some penguins in Antarctica!
Anything else you want to add?
Advice for my athletes: Keep giving your best every day! Habits and strength aren’t built overnight, they’re built with consistency. It’s taken me 3 years to get to where I am today, and I’m still working every day to improve because the work never stops. And never forget: even when you don’t believe in yourself, your favorite coaches at Spero do!
